The early bird gets the .....what? What does it get?

On a morning when most people my age (which is still young) are sleeping off their hang overs from the night before. I got up early... really early . I am sitting outside of our new project waiting for my father and uncle to meet me here and talk plans.  It's snowing I'm cold and wishing I was in bed... actually kinda wishing for that hang over. Luckily while making a coffee run they showed up and  the house had a heater in it yessssssss

Here we are .....the mold is gone !this picture is the side entry that leads down to the basement or into the kitchen.
A shot of the kitchen. Reminder that little wall on the right is being taken out.
Here is the opening in the kitchen that will face the entry room below is a picture of what this wall will look like with cabinets.
the opening in this picture looks like a window.  It's not.
Here is the opposite wall. The sink wall.
Here is a picture of what it will look like (hopefully)
So when I fist stepped foot in the third floor of this house, I realized something was wrong.  The floors were slanted.  Badly.  So The guys jacked up the house and added a new support.  Right now the wood on the left is just temporary (I'm sure that's clear).  The slanted floors are gone that's for sure.
The large support on the ceiling helps keep the roof from caving in.
This beam looks important as well.  Looks like someone has a sense of humor.
Up we go
Bob and I discussed where the hall sconces and light switches go.

These bedroom pictures are.....redundant and boring.  I will spear you. Here is 1 of 3
Dad had some great ideas for the basement.  Here is the jest: Fake wall, blah blah blah, storage/hall way, blah bump out bathroom blah.
Here is an update on the basement bathroom.  Better eh?

Kitchen Planning Part 1

It's that time again.

Here are some proposed kitchen ideas.
This includes the changes.  Opening the entry room wall and getting rid of that weird half counter between the kitchen and dinning area.

The square on the left side of this photo is there the wall will be open so you can see into the entry room.  It's a nice way to open up the floor plan and add more natural light into the kitchen
My favorite view.

Nice right?  I think the double bowl sink will go down to a single bowl.  Big D called me tonight and told me we can gain more cabinet space if we cut down on the sink.  Storage is much more important then double sink that's what the dishwasher is for right?

I wouldn't know I'm living in the stone age over here.

Here we are the entry/living/family room.  The only thing that is currently inhabiting this place is mold.  Lots and lots of mold.  But we are currently tearing this place apart and striping it doing major mold removal.
The wall to the right is the kitchen wall.  we will be cutting a hole here so when you walk in the front door you can see into the kitchen.  It will really open up the floor plan.
Soon this beautiful carpet will be replaced by hardwood flooring.

Just off the entry room is this dinning area. It currently gets great light.  The little side wall you can see on the left in the kitchen will be eliminated.  This will create a nice flow through the kitchen.
Here is that lovely kitchen.  I have actually seen worse.  this counter on the right is the area that will be removed. So it will be move of a galley kitchen.
New cabinets and appliances will be adding creating more storage.  New wood floors will also warm u the space.  This kitchen also gets really great light.
Off the kitchen is a staircase that leads to a basement.  We are going to make this basement inhabitable including a laundry room and new bathroom.

I almost didn't blow this basement bathroom picture up because it is so gross.  But I'm going for impact with before and afters here people.
This is the staircase that leads to the second floor off the entry room (the first picture I posted on this page) I love this stair case.  It needs a few sconces and I know someone who knows how to make that happen.
Directly on your right at the top of the staircase is the bathroom.  The size is great,  once we get in there and re tile add new tub and the right fixtures it will be brand new and up to date.
Really a yellow toilet seat?  Who actually takes time out to buy a colored toilet seat? I hate yellow anything.

Here is the first of three bedrooms in the house.  They are all of pretty much equal size and once they get can lights new windows fresh floors and the perfect paint color picked out by yours truly  they will be amazing.
Bedroom number 2
Bedroom Number 3
The exterior of the house is quite charming actually. It just needs some detail work.
New pictures of the clean out to follow keep an eye out.  Things will start looking up soon!
